Fat Burning Diets...Do They Work

Going hungry is not the answer to losing fat! This sets you up to fail before you even start because you need superhuman motivation to keep calories low, you yearn for the banned foods, but the worst part is that nagging hunger.

Who wants to live like that? Forget the supposed common sense that diets don't work because people don't follow them. Many of us have had the experience of following a diet to the letter and ending up heavier.

So if eating less is not the answer, the real answer is something else. But what? Recognize first why "normal" diets are doomed to failure. You probably recognize this process.

You start dieting by eating less of something e.g. food, calories or fat. This reduction helps your cells lose water resulting in a fast loss of weight. Hooray!

However once the cellular water is reduced, your body starts to burn muscle to provide you with energy because it's easier to burn than fat. The fat is left until last and even worse the hungrier you are, the more your body will try and store fat. Boo!

Eventually the body will start to use the fat but it takes more time and effort to convert fat so it doesn't deliver the energy as quickly or efficiently so your attention, sharpness, energy level and focus all tend to drop. It doesn't feel good so exercise falls off and eventually the dieter stops the diet. Boo!

But now your body's food supply goes from low to high overnight! Unfortunately your body continues at a low metabolic rate for a while until it feels "safe" there is plentiful food, your body will slowly rebuild the lost muscle mass BUT it stores the majority of the now plentiful food as fat.

Result: you put on even more weight than you'd lost. This is the famous "Rebound"?! Double Boo!

Doctors often suggest the following to avoid the dreaded "Rebound".
- Cut calories but keep protein levels high
- Exercise 4 or 5 times a week to help maintain muscle
- Take supplements and drink lots of water
- Get some help from a professional to help change behavior.

All good tips but I've tried to follow these very general guidelines in the past and it's just been a disaster. I need more hand holding especially as my belief in these diets is a little weak.

Well I have found something new and I'd like to share it with you and no it's not a fad diet where you only eat meat or cheese, fruit juice, cottage cheese or whatever.

They call it an idiot proof diet because they make it so easy to do. I really like that and I think you will too. You can find out more at my page link below.
